ENERTIA
supported silverchair on the 31st
July 1999 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre to a capacity crowd of 6800
people and were voted by silverchair’s crew as the best support band. ENERTIA
have played quite a few high profiled gigs such as the Grand Re-Opening of the
new Youth Venue in Newcastle, they also played to a crowd of 2500 people strong
when they supported Killing Heidi,
and played with Loki at Sobriety 4 on
the 17th March 2000. They supported The Get Up Kids, Area 7,
and Jebediah at the Newcastle
University on the 23rd of March 2000 followed up by featuring on Channel
[V]’s ‘The Joint’ on the 28th of March 2000. ENERTIA also
claimed the crown as the state winners of the Commonwealth
Youth Affairs Battle of the Bands in 2000. ENERTIA have also supported the
likes of the Testeagles, Elephant Gun,
The Porkers, and the Screaming
Jets. ENERTIA are a band committed to the expansion of their sound, with a
dedicated practice schedule of 4 rehearsals a week.
With
this year shaping up to be huge already, through tours, hitting the recording
studios later this year and releasing the first professional recording at a
national level, ENERTIA have the make up for success. ENERTIA performed at the
Grounded Festival in Sydney on the 17th of March 2001, and at
Sobriety5 with Superheist and Sunk Loto
on the 23rd of March 2001, and then at the EnergyAustralia Surfest
Grand Finale Party with Big Heavy Stuff,
Machine Gun Fellatio and Grinspoon
on the 1st of April 2001.
At all of their concerts they have proven that they are no flavour of the month, but rather the next upcoming thing from Newcastle to look out for.
